I am a 2024 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, completing my undergrad degree with a Biology Major and Spanish Minor at Central College in Pella, Iowa.
Following graduation, I began my career in emergency medicine in Indianapolis, Indiana, where I gained valuable experience caring for a wide variety of urgent and critical cases as a solo overnight emergency veterinarian.
My passion for veterinary medicine actually began right here in Texas at a clinic in Conroe, TX called Tender Paws. Growing up, my 2 younger siblings and I would spend summers down in Texas on my grandparents ranch. As a middle schooler, I had the opportunity to spend several days during the summer shadowing a veterinarian. I quickly fell in love with the diversity of veterinary medicine and the fact that no two days are ever quite the same. I love that veterinary medicine is a constantly evolving field—there is always something new to learn, a skill to improve, or another way to provide better care for patients. While I have a special love for emergency medicine, surgery, and urgent procedures, my professional interests also include nutrition, preventative care, and dermatology, particularly allergies, ear infections, wounds, lacerations, and other common skin conditions. One of my favorite parts of veterinary medicine is client communication and education. I enjoy getting to know pet owners, advocating for their pets, and working together with families to make sure both the patient and the people who love them have the best experience possible.
After working in Indiana, I am excited to return to Texas! Although I technically was born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Texas has always felt like a second home. I am especially looking forward to being closer to family, enjoying the warmer weather, and exploring everything the greater Houston area has to offer.
Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy spending time with family and my own fur babies: my supermutt dogs that were rescues, Oliver and Sheldon, and a sweet young orange kitty named Phoebe. My hobbies include working out, tending to my houseplant collection, baking, reading, photography, and trying different crafts, from scrapbooking, latch hooking, and diamond painting. When the weather is nice, I love being outdoors and can often be found walking or hiking with my dogs, paddleboarding, playing pickleball, soccer, or boating with friends and family on Lake Conroe. I also grew up riding horses and still love spending time at the barn with my horse, Darq Fyre, on my grandparents' ranch.
